The conference and the pre-conference workshop have been successfully completed and more than 300 participants from more than 25 countries attended the 1st Asia Pacific Clinical Epidemiology and Evicence-Based Medicine Conference in Kuala Lumpur. The theme for this year's conference was "Linking clinical evidence to Evidence-Based Practice: Issue and Challanges". The conference was officiated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation, University of Malaya, Professor Dr Hamzah A Rahman representing the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Malaya.

The keynote address on Linking clinical evidence to Evidence-Based Practice: Issue and Challanges was delivered by Professor Dr Paul Glasziou from the Bond University, Queensland, Australia. There were three plenary session, four symposium session and 10 tracks for free paper presentation. Altogether there were 145 free paper oral presentations and 147 posters. The conference included two preconference workshop on "Linking Evidence to Clinical Practice" by Prof. Dr Paul Glasziou from Bond University and Translating Evidence to Health Policy, Prof. Dr Vivian Lin, La Trobe University. Both the pre-conference workshop was well attended by bothe local and foriegn participants from the Ministry of Health and Universities
