RISK FACTOR CERVICAL CANCER AT DR WAHIDIN SUDIROHUSODO MAKASSAT IN 2009-2010

Abstract

Objectives: The purpose of this research is to understand the great risk of several risk factors cervical cancer at Dr.Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital from 2009-2010.

Methods: This research is observational analytic with Case Control Study design. The population was inpatients in poly obstetrics and gynecology at Dr.Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital in 2009-2010. sampling techniques is by purposive sampling with total respondents are 136 people.

Results: Study result shows that the age of first marriage = 20th have a big risk 14.394 times to get cervical cancer (95% CI = 6.209 - 33.367), frequency of marriage > 1 have a big risk 2.925 times to get cervical cancer (95% CI = 1.060 - 8.072), parity = 3 have a big risk 3.916 times to get cervical cancer (95% CI = 1.909 - 8.035), distance within birth = 2nd have a big risk 2.667 times to get cervical cancer (95% CI = 1.289 - 5.515), use of hormonal contraceptives have a big risk 3.877 times to get cervical cancer (95% CI = 1.896 - 7.926), and abotus history have a big risk 1.744 times to get cervical cancer (95% CI = 0.834 - 3.648).

Conclusion: Based on the result of this research, the health service, personnel, primary health center, Department of Religious Affairs and prominent community leaders need to do an integrated socialization of cervical cancer through communication information education.
