INTEGRATED INFORMATION SYSTEM OF TELEPHONE FOLLOW-UP FOR CANCER PATIENTS

Abstract

Objectives: Due to the cancer patients complain about the repeated telephone follow-up services, it is still a lack of resources integrated for this reason, we created integrated information system of telephone follow-up would benefit the increase patient satisfaction.

Methods: We has development of a computerized follow-up cancer register systems after diagnosis for cancer linkage chemotherapy case management systems, radiotherapy case management systems, cancer case management systems are sufficient to improve the follow up services data at Changhua Christian hospital which located in the middle of Taiwan. We formulate cancer patients can be classified into homogeneous groups with different follow-up guideline, which regulars’ annual revision of the frequency table.

Results: In this study, we established follow-up systems rule sets for cancer patients began in 2007/01/01 and continued until 2010/12/31. Furthermore, cancer patients with different of treatments to track and care by case manager.

Conclusion: Our findings have telephone intervention to reduce unmet need and improve quality of life for cancer patients.
